چکیده

Chronic expanding haematoma (CEH) is a rare type of haematoma that enlarges slowly and continuously without coagulation. It can occur following surgery because of shear stress-induced bleeding in the scar tissue between the subcutaneous fat and fascia. We present three cases of large chronic CEH that were successfully treated with triamcinolone injections. Three female patients developed large chronic CEH at 9 months, 5 years, and 6 years, respectively, after latissimus dorsi flap harvesting for breast reconstruction. Although the condition did not improve after multiple sessions of haematoma aspiration in the first two patients, it resolved following a single 40-mg triamcinolone injection along with appropriate compression dressing for several weeks. In the third patient, triamcinolone was injected immediately after the initial aspiration of the haematoma, and the condition improved considerably. There were no side effects in any of the patients. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of successful treatment of large CEH using triamcinolone. Therefore, we suggest that triamcinolone injections be considered for the treatment of CEH.

Immediate Partial Breast Reconstruction with Endoscopic Latissimus Dorsi Muscle Flap Harvest

BACKGROUND Currently, breast conservation therapy is commonly performed for the treatment of early breast cancer. Depending on the volume excised, patients may require volume replacement, even in cases of partial mastectomy. The use of the latissimus dorsi muscle is the standard method, but this procedure leaves an unfavorable scar on the donor site. We used an endoscope for latissimus dorsi ha...

Novel technique for laparoscopic harvesting of latissimus dorsi flap with prosthesis implantation for breast reconstruction

BACKGROUD An important drawback of the traditional technique for harvesting latissimus dorsi (LD) myocutaneous flap is a long, posterior donor-site incision. Current techniques involve endoscopic or robotic harvesting via a combined approach of open and closed surgery, which necessitates an open axillary incision and the use of special retractors. In this paper, we introduce a fully enclosed la...

Endoscopically assisted latissimus dorsi flap harvesting and breast reconstruction in young female with Poland syndrome.

We will describe a second phase of breast reconstruction on a young girl suffering from Poland syndrome. She has the breast, pectoralis major and minor muscle aplasia on the right side. She has no other deformities. The best result is achieved by combining latissimus dorsi flap and a silicone implant, and even better aesthetic result is accomplished with endoscopically assisted latissimus dorsi...

Surgical removal of fibrous axillary seroma pocket and closing of dead space using a lattisimus dorsi flap

Seroma formation after axillary dissection is a common problem in breast cancer surgery. We report the case of a 68-year-old female with breast cancer who underwent a wide local excision and axillary clearance due to stage III breast cancer. Patient received post-operative whole breast irradiation therapy and developed a painful, infected seroma one month after surgery. This was treated with an...
